IQ VS EQ

Before analyzing EQ and IQ, let us familiarize ourselves with what exactly these terms mean.

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
ØAccording to Daniel  Goleman , author of the best-selling book, Emotional Intelligence, emotional quotient means:
   *Self-awareness, *Self-regulation , *Motivation, *Empathy, Etc.

 INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT
ØIntelligence is a very difficult concept to define. Intellect is described as “the power of the mind to think in a logical manner and acquire knowledge.

"What really matters for success, character, happiness and life long achievements is a definite set of emotional skills - your EQ - not just purely cognitive abilities that are measured by conventional IQ tests."
                                                                                                                                        (Daniel Goleman, Ph.D)

IQ and EQ

ØEarlier it was believed that people with high IQ could alone become successful in personal, academic, family and professional life.
Many people with high IQ may be productive and ambitious but found to be cold and detached.
People with EQ, even with average IQ have found to be more successful because they are social, empathetic and cheerful’.
IQ is mostly determined by genetics and so it can not be changed drastically.
But EQ is mostly learned and people can be trained.
